About our classesAdult classesAdult’s classes are designed to cater for any fitness level and ability. Study is far more pragmatic and the art is analysed in far more depth and understanding. History, applied psychology, basic anatomy and conflict resolution are all studied in conjunction with the syllabus. The syllabus is uniquely designed so that many techniques are practiced from a vast multitude of attacks and variations. This even allows for basic defences against weaponry to be introduced early on. Childrens classesThe Children’s classes are designed with the intention that children are not simply mini-adults and as such are taught at their own pace to allow their confidence to grow and develop. The syllabus is flexible so that children can learn safer, easier techniques suitable to their own level and development. Gradings for children take into account their class work, attitude and age so there is no pressure on them and they can improve in a proactive environment. The emphasis is on positive hard work, team work, confidence building and of course the most important factor for children, fun! Okinawan KobudoWe are privilaged to offer this brand new class studying the art of Matayoshi Kobudo, we are the only practicing school of the Matayoshi system in Staffordshire and so have the oppotunity to shape the development of Matayoshi Kobudo for the future of this area. You need no previous experience to study Kobudo and we are always happy to except new students. Kobudo is often studied as a supplementary art to go with another martial art, however this is by no means necessary and it is a rich and dynamic martial art in its own right, with excellent benefits for both complete beginners and experienced students from any art. We offer a seperate grading system for Kobudo so pupils can progress no matter their circumstances. For more information please contact us, we will be more than happy to hear from you. |
